GEORGIA DIVISION SCV OFFERS $3,000 REWARD RELATED TO SCREVEN COUNTY CONFEDERATE MONUMENT ATTACK

 

On Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 6 pm. lawn workers in the cemetery attest the monument was fine. Then on Friday morning, August 31 at 8 am. the same workers discovered that the Screven County Confederate Veterans Monument was toppled with significant damage to the Soldier.  
The monument is located in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery, it was erected by the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Sons of Confederate Veterans in 1909 to honor the Confederate Dead. The Sylvania Police Dept., the Screven County Sheriff Dept. and the GBI is actively investigating the case.
The Georgia Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans is outraged and saddened by these criminal acts against Georgia’s Veteran monuments and is offering a $3,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the guilty party.
